Wool Garment Care
TIP 1:
WOOL
Hand wash your knitwear using cold or lukewarm water, not exceeding 20°C.
Add only a small amount of detergent specifically for wool. Keep in mind that using too much detergent or an unsuitable one can cause the garment to lose its shape.
Wash garments gently and avoid soaking them for more than a few minutes. When rinsing, do not wring them out.
If you prefer to machine wash them, make sure the label allows it. Check if your washing machine has a special wool cycle, with a gentle spin (400 rpm).
Avoid overloading the washing machine, as excessive friction could damage the fabric.
Do not use fabric softener on knitwear, as it could make the fabric rough and less soft.
Never wring out knitwear or put it in the dryer.
To remove excess water, gently wrap them in a towel without twisting.
It is advisable to dry them spread out on a towel and on a flat surface, such as a table or a bed. Don't forget to fold the sleeves to prevent them from deforming.
Try not to stretch the fabric, as the garment will retain the shape it had before drying.
Ironing is not necessary if you have washed and dried your knitwear correctly.
However, if you decide to iron them, be sure to take the following precautions:
- Iron the garment gently and inside out.
- Avoid applying pressure or flattening the fabric.
- Always use an ironing board to keep the garment in good condition.
